STANSTED EXPANSION - Liberal Democrat response to B.A.A.
"Harlow must strengthen the campaign against expansion"
Responding to B.A.A.'s submission to the government on the proposed expansion of Stansted Airport, local Liberal Democrat leader Lorna Spenceley said:
"It's predictable but disappointing that B.A.A. is pressing the government for two more runways at Stansted, and a massive increase in air traffic over Harlow skies.
"B.A.A. appears to have accepted without question the government's projections for growth in air travel, and to take the attitude that 'there is no alternative' to more airport expansion in the South East of England.
"Residents in and around Harlow must strengthen the campaign against the expansion of Stansted, and show the government our determination to protect our quality of life."
