Wednesday, 24 May 2006£2 million for Staple Tye
Harlow Council has received £2 million of public money for a regeneration project in Staple Tye. The money, allocated through the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, is part of a £10 million package which will also include regeneration schemes at Prentice Place, Clifton Hatch and Old Harlow, and a new enterprise centre on Edinburgh Way.
Staple Tye councillors Chris Robins and Lorna Spenceley attended a councillors' briefing at which ideas for the regeneration projects were discussed. A meeting for residents to discuss the Staple Tye project will take place on Thursday 8 June at the GPCA building on Abercrombie Way, beginning at 18:00. Ideas being considered at this stage include the possibility of moving Great Parndon branch library from opposite Longbanks to a new location in the shopping centre, and relocating Lister House medical centre, and building housing on both current sites. It's very important that residents have their say; Staple Tye councillors will be represented at the meeting on 8 June and we hope to see a good number of residents there. |
