Tuesday, 11 September 2007Traffic order consultation gets the green light
Residents in Staple Tye will shortly be consulted on proposals for several different traffic orders in various parts of the ward. Harlow Council's Environment & Community Committee has agreed to start formal consultation on restrictions at Berecroft (Commonside Road entrance), Longbanks (Parnall Road), Moorfield (both entrances) and Perry Road.
Local councillor Lorna Spenceley presented two petitions to the committee - one from staff and parents at St James & St Luke's pre-school about the parking situation on Perry Road, and one signed by nearly 100 residents of Longbanks asking for Essex County Council to introduce a one-way system in Longbanks. The committee agreed to open discussions with the county council about the possibility of a one-way system on the estate; if the county council agreed then residents would be consulted. Lorna says: "This is a very welcome result for local residents across the ward, who will now be formally consulted about proposals to make our area a safer place." |
